Biography
I am a problem-solver at heart. I thrive addressing complex and significant challenges. These are the times where I can lean into my skills in critical thinking, research design, and people management and use my strengths of creativity, determination and empathy to seek real-world impacts.
I am always keen to use my knowledge of survey and study design, data analysis, and behaviour for a variety of applications and am passionate about the translation of scientific knowledge and associated science communications. I believe in the value of excellent science and the power of diversity to solve real world problems. I like to work in spaces where behaviour needs to be better understood or improved across any aspects of health and disease management.
I have worked with many external clients and enjoy the insight, application and pace that industry can provide scientists. I enjoy working closely with small and medium enterprise to design scientific solutions to meet their needs while retaining research integrity.
My many years of experience in project and people management extend to a variety of areas, including idea conception to delivery and governance of complex and large portfolios. Recently, I concluded my appointment as Director of the multi-million dollar Precision Health Platform and oversaw successful delivery of key projects across CSIRO.
Other Interests
Street Machine Association of South Australia, member (2018 - current)
I have two classic motorcycles: a v50 Moto Guzzi that has been customised into a cafe racer, my dad's 1971 Honda CL450 which is an ongoing (forever) rebuilt. You will often find us at a Street Machine Association events, cars and coffee or a swap meet around SA.
Collecting (lifetime, ongoing)
I am usually collecting something mainly, because I like the hunt for obscure secondhand objects to justify my op shopping.
Gravel riding
There is nothing as soothing as a ride along a dirt trail near one of my local creeks. It is a privilege to have access to so much beautiful nature in my area.
Professional Coaching
Over the last year, I have been studying professional coaching in my spare time and really believe in the value that pure coaching methods provide for behaviour change and better people management.
