Biography
Guy Barnett is a Principal Research Consultant focussed on cities and the integration of science with urban planning and design to foster liveability, sustainability and resilience. He has a background in environmental science and the ecology of cities, with more than 20 years’ experience collaborating with community, industry and government throughout urban Australia. Guy has worked on topics ranging from integrated urban sustainability assessments, to green infrastructure for urban climate adaptation, to the role of ‘urban living labs’ for accelerating urban innovation and experimentation. He is author or co-author of over 60 publications, including more than 25 scholarly articles or book chapters. He has contributed as an invited expert to several national advisory committees and also maintains a number of international collaborations. He holds a BSc (Hons) from the Australian National University.
