Biography

Dr. Shiping Chen is a senior principal research scientist in CSIRO. He also holds the title of adjunct professor at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), and Macquarie University. He has been working on distributed systems for over 30 years with a focus on architecture, performance and security. He has published over 300+ research papers in these research areas with over 1,2400+ citations and 47 h-index. He also led and participated in 4 international blockchain standards (ERC-5521, ERC-7634, ERC-8034, and IETF SATP). His work is well recognised internationally, with best paper awards (IEEE/ACM GRID-2015, ICSE-2018, etc.), conference keynotes (IEEE ICWS, ICBC, SDLT), and roles as journal guest editor (IET Blockchain) and conference co-chair (IEEE ICWS, ICBC, Metaverse). His current research interests include Blockchain-based decentralised systems and AI-based multi-agent systems. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
