Biography
Aaron is a Principal Research Scientist in the Mineral Resources Business Unit of CSIRO, and is Team Leader of the EM & Seismic research team in the Exploration Through Cover Group. His research interests include forward modelling, inversion, and interpretation of electromagnetic (EM) and surface nuclear magnetic resonance (SNMR) data for earth science applications.
Aaron has experience in working on ground-based and airborne frequency- and time-domain geophysical data for regolith and cover thickness mapping, mineral exploration, and groundwater detection and exploration. He is interested in all aspects of forward modelling in order to improve the speed and accuracy of codes, the appropriate level of processing applied to EM and SNMR data, and the inversion aspects of using complicated data sets.
Prior to joining CSIRO, Aaron worked at Geoscience Australia as a senior scientist in the Groundwater and Earth Modelling Division. Aaron obtained his PhD in Applied Physics from RMIT University, a Master of Science from Dalhousie University, and his Bachelor of Science from Bishop's University.
