Biography

Cara undertook her PhD studies in Physical Chemistry at the University of Melbourne, developing porous electrode materials for high power lithium-ion batteries. She is presently a materials research scientist at CSIRO Manufacturing in the Advanced Materials and Processes Program. Her current research efforts are to develop cutting-edge porous materials used for the benefit of the environment including sensors for toxic water systems, energy storage devices and membranes for fuel cells. Cara is developing MOF encapsulated biomolecules for sensors and is working toward building a direct air capture (DAC) demonstrator.
