Biography
Dr Louise Fisher leads the Mineral Resources Research Unit - a multidisciplinary team of over 350 researchers working across mineral exploration, mining, mineral processing and sustainability research and its translation to industry to deliver programs of research that focus on growing Australia's resources, building and expanding critical mineral supply chains, decarbonizing the mining value chain and developing pathways to green metal production in Australia.
A geologist and geochemist by training with experience in applied research for mineral exploration she has brought a love of laboratory work to the development of novel scientific infrastructure driving the growth of new facilities for geoscience research, including the SIEF ARCF Maia Mapper, and the SIEF Geoscience Drill Core Research Laboratory. More recently she has focused on research management, working across domains to understand the science and technology breakthroughs that can have impact and enhance the sustainability of the Australian minerals industry.
