Biography
Dr Narelle Fegan is a Senior Research Scientist in Microbiology within the Food Program at CSIRO. Since starting at CSIRO in 1995, Narelle's research has focussed on food borne bacterial pathogens, particularly Shiga toxigenic E. coli (STEC) and Salmonella, specifically in relation to animal production systems. Narelle has worked on projects with the red meat, dairy and chicken meat industries to gain a better understanding of how these organisms survive, persist and are transmitted through the food chain and how best to prevent contamination of food products.
