Biography
Ashley Gillman is a Research Scientist with the Neuroimaging Team at AEHRC, based in Townsville and with strong ties to Brisbane. His research areas are in multimodal image analysis and reconstruction (esp. PET/MR), spatiotemporal (dynamic) medical imaging, physically-constrained learning, and medical imaging protocol design. He is currently investigating MR-guided PET reconstruction and Partial Volume Correction applied to Epilepsy; MRI-based motion correction and prediction applied in PET imaging and radiotherapy; and multimodal spatiotemporal atlas techniques for application in preterm neonatal MRI imaging.
I collaborate widely within Townsville, Brisbane, and internationally via the CCP SyneRBI, and encourage anyone interested in collaboration to reach out.
Other Interests
Software
I am passionate about scientific software, and am a contributor to projects including STIR (PET and SPECT recontrustion) and SIRF (multimodal reconstruction) as well as sitting on the Steering Panel for the CCPSyneRBI.
People
I am interested in helping ensure my peers enjoy a safe and equitable work environment. To this end, I am currently serving as on the H&B EMCR Committee, as the an Authorised First Aid Officer for ATSIP and as the H&B Representative on the ATSIP HSE Committee. I'd encourage anyone with similar interests to reach out and see how we can work together.
