Biography

Dr Philip Kilby is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO's Data61.
His research in discrete optimisation problems - particularly problems
in transportation - has focused on providing solutions for real-world
problems.

After receiving a Ph.D. from The University of Queensland, Philip
worked in private industry, at the optimisation consultancy OPCOM.
Philip spent 12 years with CSIRO, finishing as leader of the
Operations Research Group. He joined the Australian National
University as a Fellow in 2002, and moved across to NICTA in 2004.
NICTA was merged into Data61 in 2016.
