Biography
Sevvandi Kandanaaarachchi is a Senior Research Scientist at the Statistical Machine Learning Group in CSIRO. She is an Associate Investigator of the OPTIMA ARC Centre and a Partner Investigator of the MOBIUS ARC Research Hub. She completed her PhD in differential geometry and partial differential equations at Monash University in 2011. Following the completion of a Graduate Certificate in Data Mining and Applications at Stanford University in 2015, she transitioned into research in statistical machine learning. Her current research interests include graphons, algorithm evaluation, Item Response Theory, and anomaly detection. She also works on applications in which machine learning supports scientific discovery.
