Professional Areas

Dr Weihua Liu is a Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO Minerals Resources. He was an ARC Future Fellow (2014-2018). His research activities include hydrothermal experiments, geochemical modelling and the application of synchrotron technology to the earth sciences area. His research mainly focuses on understanding the behaviour of metals in hydrothermal fluids and fluid/mineral interactions in natural and industrial systems. Collaborating with scientists from Australian and international universities, he is conducting experimental and theoretical studies to investigate mineral solubility, metal speciation and fluid-mineral reactions in high P-T fluids relevant to ore formation, mineral processing, and mineral carbonation systems.
