Professional Areas

Dr. Weihua Liu is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources and was an ARC Future Fellow from 2014 to 2018. His research focuses on hydrothermal processes, geochemical modeling, and the application of synchrotron techniques to earth sciences. Primarily, he investigates the behavior of metals in hydrothermal fluids and fluid-mineral interactions in both natural and industrial systems. In collaboration with scientists from Australian and international universities, Dr. Liu conducts experimental and theoretical research on mineral solubility, metal speciation, and fluid-mineral reactions under elevated temperature-pressure conditions, with applications in ore formation, mineral processing, and mineral carbonation systems.
