Biography
Dr. Xun Li is the Team Leader of the Quantitative Imaging Team within CSIRO’s Imaging and Computer Vision (ICV) Research Group, part of the Data61 Business Unit. She is an engaged and motivated researcher who is passionate about applying computer vision to solve real-world problems. Her work spans multiple sub-domains of computer vision, including robotic 3D scene understanding, intelligent video surveillance, geospatial imaging, and digital agriculture.
From 2020 to 2022, Dr. Li was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). In this role, she focused on pedestrian tracking and human action recognition in multi-camera networks, contributing to next-generation security and safety monitoring solutions.
Dr. Li first joined CSIRO in 2014 as a researcher at the High Resolution Plant Phenomics Centre, dedicating four years to the development of automated visual processing pipelines for plant phenotyping
Xun completed her Doctor of Philosophy in the area of Surveying and Geospatial Engineering at Satellite Navigation & Positioning Laboratory (SNAP Lab) , UNSW. Her research mainly includes using computer vision combined with photogrammetric techniques to develop vision-based positioning & navigation system based on geo-referenced 3D map.
Research interest: 3D scene understanding, human behaviour analysis
