Biography

I have a background in taxonomic identification marine invertebrates and zooplankton and management of associated data sets and the curation of preserved samples.
From 2014 I have worked with the IMOS Australian Plankton group identifying marine zooplankton from IMOS National Reference Stations and also from continuous plankton recorder silk samples collected for the AUSCPR and SOCPR programs.
In 2011-2014 I was at the Australian Antarctic Division where I curated the marine invertebrate collections and organised their identification and distribution to museums. I worked with the deep survey surveys curating the museum identification of specimens from CSIRO surveys from 2007-2010.
I worked for the Centre for Introduced Marine Pests at CSIRO from 1998 to 2006 where I identified marine invertebrate of benthic and fouling specimens from Port Surveys and undertook research to assist in the risk assessment and management of marine pests in Australian waters. This included attending advisory management meetings.
I have also been involved with research on the endangered handfish including diving surveys and analysis of data to contribute to management advice.
