Biography
I'm a research scientist in CSIRO's Agriculture & Food working to improve farming decision-making with intelligent agricultural systems. I have experience with big data analytics, such as machine learning (random forest, XGBoost) and deep learning (MLPs and CNNs), data handling (SQL, Python – pandas and geopandas – and R – tidy universe), and crop modelling (APSIM and DSSAT). I integrate data from multiple sources such as orbital and proximal remote sensing, industry, climate, and market data to generate solutions for the ag sector. Previously, I worked calibrating crop models (DSSAT-CROPGRO for soybean yield estimations) and applying artificial intelligence algorithms to remote sensing data to quantify crop production (map and predict soybean yield) in Brazil.
