Biography
Dr Judy Scoble is a Principal Research Scientist and Group Leader for Biologics Research and Development, within the Biomedical Manufacturing Program at CSIRO. After completing her PhD at La Trobe University and Post Doctoral appointments at the University of Melbourne, La Trobe University and Monash University she joined CSIRO in 2008 as a Research Scientist. She became Team Leader in 2011 and Group Leader in 2022.
Judy’s focus is on the design, production and purification of biologics (mostly proteins). She works with Australian companies (large pharma and SMEs) and academics to produce and purify their biologics to progress their research and development, for example in drug discovery pipelines. She has expertise in developing purification processes for translation into regulated biomanufacturing, and has developed purification processes for two vaccines for Phase I clinical trials in Australia. She has a continuing interest in protein chemistry and the bioconjugation of proteins to small molecules, polymers or other proteins.
