Biography
Dr. Melissa Skidmore is a senior research scientist, with a track record of more than two decades at the forefront of polymer, synthetic and computational chemistry, and polymer analysis and characterization. Melissa leads the Waste Innovation Work Package for the CSIRO Ending Plastic Waste Initative and is a key figure in the CSIRO Circular Economy research initiative.
Melissa combines her knowledge to tackle the challenge of redesigning, reusing, and recycling plastics. Her current research ventures include "recyclable-by-design" polymers, the management and processing of problematic plastics, and plastic waste management across remote, regional, and international landscapes. Melissa is committed to promoting circular economy principles and transforming plastic waste into a valuable resource.
Melissa is working with Global organizations, SME’s, universities and NGO’s to reshape our relationship with plastics and our planet.
