Biography

Bruce Thomson has worked with innovative SMEs for more than 25 years, on matters such as business strategy, skills development and acquisition, and research and development.

He has worked in a range of locations, both regional and metropolitan, and in diverse industries, including advanced manufacturing, food and agribusiness, ICT, mining and mining services and defence.

He is a strong believer in collaboration as a driver of innovation and business success. He has been involved in the development of business networks and facilitating engagement between businesses and research providers. The latter was a particular focus of his role immediately prior to becoming an Innovation Facilitator. For six years he was Business Development Manager at the University of Wollongong, where he was responsible for connecting businesses with researchers and commercialising university developed IP.
