Biography
Erik van Ooijen is a Senior Experimental Scientist, leader of the Chemistry Team, and lead of the IMOS Ocean Acidification Mooring Program. He oversees instrument preparation, field deployments, and data processing and has contributed to more than 90 successful pCO₂ mooring deployments.
Erik is also responsible for developing the next generation of marine carbon sensors. He has participated in numerous research voyages, building and operating mass spectrometer systems for the underway measurement of biological oxygen production. In addition, he contributed to the Carbon Capture and Storage Monitoring, Measurement and Verification (CCS MMV) project, developing new sensor platforms for real-time environmental monitoring.
