Biography
Bridging the gap between science and decision-makers is a key focus of Clare's work. The goal is to support the integration and application of science for improved environmental decision-making.
To do this skills in environmental impact assessment, stakeholder analysis, knowledge integration, science writing and project management are applied in various contexts. Clare has worked on a wide range of projects with current projects: the National Bushfire Intelligence Capability leading knowledge translation and communication management and the Regional Ecosystem Accounting Pilots leading the stakeholder engagement and communication aspects of the project.
Two key past projects are the Bioregional Assessments Programme and the Geological and Bioregional Assessment Program. The knowledge, data and tools produced in these projects support regulators and industry with planning, assessment and reporting. The common information base and baseline data help inform decision-making for sustainable development.
Clare has a Master of Environmental Management, with a focus on natural resource management, environmental management, risk assessment and sustainability issues. Special interests include integrating and applying science, collaborative research, stakeholder analysis, and development of knowledge products to improve the uptake of research outcomes.
