Biography
Florence is a Research Technician in the Biomarkers/Biosensors team, Human Health Group of CSIRO Health and Biosecurity.
She has ten years of experience working in world-leading European research institutions (pharmaceutics, plastics, defence applications, food industry). With expertise in chemistry and engineering, she has developed de novo drug synthesis, improved drug delivery systems, designed novel microcellular foams and formulated innovative plastic decking.
Since joining CSIRO in 2012, she has specialised in analytical chemistry using e-Noses and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to identify compounds relevant to health and biosecurity matters, including human breath diagnostics, water quality, pest control and defence applications. She supported the development of the CYBERTONGUE® biosensor platform.
