Biography

Renee is Team Leader of the Hydrothermal Footprints team in CMR’s Discovery Program and has expertise in applied research using SEM mineral mapping and pXRF workflow development, industry engagement and gold systems. Renee joined CMR in 2015 from the minerals industry where she worked in Archaean orogenic gold systems across Western Australia in both the mining and exploration settings with major producers and mid-tier explorers and producers, as well in the mining services as a processing geophysicist.

Renee completed her BSc and Honours (Exploration Geophysics) the University of Tasmania on an industry-sponsored project, which focussed on constraining the average seismic velocity at Plutonic Gold Mine, through reverse-vertical seismic profiling and generation of synthetic seismograms to aid with reprocessing a pre-existing 3D seismic survey. Since joining the Hydrothermal Footprints team, Renee has been primarily focussed on delivering industry mineral mapping projects in gold and copper mineralising systems and, developing and implementing workflows to apply this research in exploration and mining settings to add value to CSIRO’s industry clients.

In addition to her research activities, Renee leads the CMR Discovery Program’s Outreach Team and is involved in the STEM Professionals in Schools program.
