Biography

Sid Chau is a principal research scientist with the cybersecurity and quantum systems group at CSIRO. He leads and directs research projects in quantum cryptography, energy systems cybersecurity, and distributed systems cybersecurity. Previously, he was a faculty member of the Australian National University, a visiting professor at MIT, an associate professor at Masdar Institute of Khalifa University, and a senior research fellow at A*STAR in Singapore. He received multiple best paper and runner-up awards from ACM conferences and the IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering Best New Application Paper Award.

He is a founding chair of ACM SIGEnergy-SIGSAC workshop series on Cybersecurity and Privacy of Energy Systems (EnergySP). He has served on multiple expert panels for regulatory and standards committees in secure energy systems and protocols. He was a technical program chair and a steering committee member of ACM eEnergy and served on multiple award panels for ACM SIGEnergy.
