Biography

Andy Hulthen is a Research Technician with the Agroecology Team based at the Ecosciences Precinct at Dutton Park, Brisbane. Andy completed an Environmental Science Degree at Queensland University of Technology in 2002 and went on to complete an Honours Degree in Entomology, also at QUT in 2003.
Andy has worked at CSIRO since 2006, and his research interests lie in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), entomology, data science, and electronic data collection systems. His current research focus is building interactive data analysis and visualisation dashboards.
Andy has operationalised many large landscape-scale ecological surveys, and was primarily responsible for transitioning all data collection activities in the team from paper to electronic. Andy is a qualified drone pilot and is currently the Work Area Custodian for Agriculture & Food at Dutton Park.
