Biography

Dr Anicia Henne is a former exploration and resource geologist who completed her PhD in Biogeochemistry at the University of Queensland on the effect of microorganisms on the mobility of metals (solubilisation, transport and precipitation) in mining environments (ore deposits, tailings, waste rocks) and the potential of these biogeochemical pathways to be harnessed for mine site rehabilitation.

Dr Henne's recent work in regolith geoscience combines multidisciplinary tools in geochemistry, mineralogy, geomicrobiology, soil science, and machine learning to understand (bio)geochemical processes that affect trace metal mobility in surficial geological environments and how they relate to regolith formation, minerals exploration, mine waste materials, and enrichment within supergene zones.
