Biography
Dr Hamideh Keshavarzi is an animal welfare scientist with a background in Animal Breeding and Genetics. Dr Keshavarzi has over eight years of experience working with different projects nationally and internationally, mainly using new methods (machine learning, statistical and economic models) and technologies (sensors) in livestock reproduction, production, health, and behaviour & welfare. She also has contact with Australian meat exporting companies, working to improve trading conditions for those export businesses.
With Animal Welfare & Behaviour team, CSIRO, her research was focused on investigating social interactions and mapping association networks within animal populations. She was particularly interested in understanding how the social friendships helps animals to adapt to a new system.
With Livestock Systems Modeling team, CSIRO, she is developing skills in biophysical modelling of livestock systems, including CLEM and Grazplan models. She has a keen interest in biophysical modelling and has important foundational skill in livestock systems and reproduction, and in programming, statistics and other advanced analytical methods.
