Biography
I am a herpetologist and ecotoxicologist with an interest in urban ecosystems and environmental monitoring. My research investigates the health of reptiles and amphibians (parasites, contaminants, biochemical and whole-organism) in response to anthropogenic stressors. In my current post-doc, I aim to apply 'omics and systems biology as methods to understand the mechanisms of—and assess the health and resilience in response to—common wetland pollutants using urban frogs as a model.
I also have over 14 years experience as a field-based fauna ecologist; specialising in herpetofauna and well-experienced with birds and mammals. I have worked on projects across the country and in South-East Asia, often living in remote field conditions for months at a time.
