Biography
Craig's background is in structural biology and computational drug discovery. He has 30 years' research experience, including 13 years in the biotech industry in a range of roles including Principal Scientist and Head of Biology. His work has primarily focused on anti-infective drug discovery, with extensive research in antiviral and antimicrobial drug discovery as well as on other microbial diseases such as malaria.
Craig is currently employed in the Microbial Screening and Production team, part of the Biologics R&D group of the Biomedical Manufacturing research unit, based at Clayton in Melbourne. Craig is also the Innovative Bioproduction Platforms theme leader in the Advanced Engineering Biology Future Science Platform. He continues to work on anti-infective drug discovery research, as well as protein structure - function analysis, protein design and the application of AI and machine learning to drug discovery.
