Biography
Dr Glenn Marsh is a Principal Research Scientist within the Dangerous Pathogens Team at CSIRO based at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness. He is a molecular virologist trained to work at the highest levels of biocontainment and has experience working with a vast range of different viruses including Hendra, Nipah and Ebola viruses. His research focused is pathogen discovery/characterisation, molecular determinants of pathogenicity and development of animal models for preclinical vaccine and therapeutic assessments.
The past few years, the research has focused on vaccine efficacy testing of several candidate Nipah virus vaccines in both pigs and ferrets (a surrogate for human infections) and testing of vaccine to prevent COVID-19.
