Biography
Alison is an ecologist with a background in botany and geography. She is particularly interested in understanding the interactions among climate, fire and ecosystems. Her research uses a combination remote sensing, field survey and dendrochronology (tree-ring) techniques to answer questions around how climate and fire regimes have varied in the past and how changes in these drivers can influence ecosystem structure and function.
Prior to joining CSIRO in 2022, Alison worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia where her research focused on using dendrochronology techniques to reveal how rainfall has varied over the last several centuries in the Pilbara and Great Western Woodlands regions of Western Australia.
