Biography
Prasad Paradkar is a leading vector biologist with expertise in virology and genomics. His research focuses on vector-borne diseases, combining molecular and ecological approaches to unravel the drivers of disease transmission. By leveraging advanced genomic tools and virological insights, Prasad aims to strengthen surveillance systems and develop innovative strategies to mitigate the impact of emerging pathogens. His work bridges fundamental science and applied solutions, contributing to global efforts in controlling mosquito-borne infections.
Prasad’s recent research explores the influence of climate variability on vector-borne disease dynamics and the factors shaping the emergence of arboviruses. Guided by the One Health framework, he investigates how environmental changes, vector ecology, and pathogen evolution intersect to affect human, animal, and ecosystem health. Through interdisciplinary collaborations, his work provides critical knowledge for predicting and preventing outbreaks, informing public health policy, and advancing our understanding of how climate and ecological shifts drive infectious disease risks worldwide.
