Biography
Lesley Scanlan is an Indigenous woman based in Brisbane and a descendent of the Jarowair (Toowoomba) and Burrungum (Dalby) nations. Lesley is interested in the Environmental Management side of Indigenous Australians' perspectives and practices and is motivated by the strong legacy left by Indigenous management of the land. She is currently studying Environmental Management (Honours) at The University of Queensland and has worked as a research assistant for UQ under the Anthropocene Initiative where she assisted in data collection and pollen extraction around the Carbon and Cultural landscapes of Mithaka Channel Country in Far Western Queensland.
