Biography
Ramneek is a software architect who works on designing and developing solutions in research domain. Often, the work he does is at the intersection between software development, data engineering, and environmental modelling.
In his current role with the Geospatial & Environmental Modelling team in DATA61, he has worked on Drought Early Warning System (DEWS) project, designing APIs for analytics and validating the data processing workflows by employing synthetic datasets in order to ensure compliance with end-user specifications. He has also been leading the architecture review of the Indra geospatial data analytics platform to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability amongst other aspects.
In the past, he has worked on nationally significant projects like the eWater CRC, Bio regional assessments and Northern Australia Water Resource Assessment (NAWRA) and high-profile international projects in the Sustainable Development Investment Portfolio (SDIP). He used to manage a key CSIRO resource, the Australian National Soils database and led the design and development of CSIRO Soil Spectral Analysis Platform (CSSAP) for machine learning models. He has also worked with hydrologists to develop hydrological simulation software, processed large environmental datasets and developed software to leverage the high-performance computing (HPC) facilities to reduce solution runtimes.
