Biography

Sarath is a passionate geoscientist with ten years of academic and professional experience in the fields of geology and geophysics. His expertise encompasses geophysical and mineral/petrophysical data acquisition, analysis, and data evaluation to interpret the physical and chemical properties of water and minerals. He derives pleasure from generating novel ideas and devising feasible solutions to broadly relevant Earth and materials science problems. With a driven and resourceful disposition, Sarath maintains a positive and proactive attitude when confronted with adversity.

Research Technician
As a Research Technician, I collaborate on scientific and technological activities with fellow researchers, focusing on planning, executing experiments, and supporting technology development. My role involves enhancing laboratory efficiency, leading workplace health and safety initiatives, contributing to industry-relevant research projects, and advancing studies on electrical conductivity in rocks and minerals. In my capacity as the Petrophysics Laboratory Manager at Lindfield, I streamline petrophysical data collection, integrate data from various sources, and ensure safety compliance. My work provides quantitative insights for interpreting geoscience data across multiple projects, aiding geophysical modelling to enhance mineral exploration activities across the country. I am also engaged in fieldwork, geological sampling, sample preparation, and petrophysical analysis. Alongside these tasks, I manage the laboratory and maintain equipment, ensuring seamless operations.
