Biography
Dr Paul Tyler is the leader of the Data Privacy Team at Data61, CSIRO. The team is part of the Privacy Technology Group. He has considerable experience leading privacy based projects involving risk identification, quantification of re-identification risks in data and in privacy preserved data sets. Most recently, he has also led the Voluntary Data Classification Framework project which consulted with Australian industry to determine current data classification practices, how a common framework might benefit industry, and designing a common framework. Privacy specific work includes providing advice to government on risk in data releases and privacy preserved Opal transport data for Transport for NSW. Paul and his team have developed the re-identification risk quantification tool R4 based on research by the group.
In earlier work as a partner with Transport for NSW, he has been instrumental in managing the deployment of an Australian first ongoing deployment and trial of connected vehicles. The trial is known as CITI.
