Biography

Wahid's research focuses on integrated water resources management, climate change, flood/drought forecasting and warning, risk and hazard management, and river basin management. He has over twenty-five years experience in developing and coordinating large knowledge management and capacity development projects/programs gained through full time engagement with the International Center for Integrated Mountain Development, ICIMOD (Nepal), UNEP (Thailand), Asian Institute of Technology, AIT (Thailand) and Institute of Water Modelling, IWM (Bangladesh), DHI (Denmark) and consultancy assignments for ADB, WB, FAO, UNDP, UNDDSMS, MRC etc. His projects span across several countries in Asia - Tibet (China), India, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. He has contributed to about 70 international peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, technical manuals, reports and educational materials.
