Dr Rowena Yew
/roʊˈiːnə ˈju/
Pronouns: she,her,hers
Research Scientist
Biography
Dr Rowena Yew received her PhD in Physics from the Australian National University. During her PhD, she worked on the fabrication and characterisation of nanostructured metal oxides and oxynitrides photoelectrodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting. She joined CSIRO's Energy BU as a CERC postdoctoral fellow where she was working on a Hydrogen Energy Systems Future Science Program funded project, to develop photoabsorbers and scaling them up to generate hydrogen from solar energy.
She is currently working in material synthesis and device fabrication to produce sustainable chemical fuels for application in low carbon technologies.
Her research interests include device physics, (photo)electrochemical spectroscopy of solid-state materials, analyses of interfacial charge transfer mechanisms, and (photo)electrochemical energy conversion.
